Matt Lautz

Founder & CEO

A serial entrepreneur, Matt brings 20+ years of SaaS, software, telecom, and contact center experience to Neostella. Other career highlights include serving as Founder and CEO of a Cloud Contact Center solution that was acquired by Shoretel/Mitel and a Salesforce implementation practice which was acquired by a fortune 1000. In his spare time, Matt enjoys downhill skiing and water skiing.

Drew Stern

COO

With 20+ years of experience in AI, high-growth SaaS, LegalTech, and media, Drew brings deep expertise in tech operations, scaling teams, and driving innovation. He founded and led Esquify, an AI-LegalTech start-up, to a successful acquisition by Xact Data Discovery and has held leadership positions at Consilio, Salesforce, and Buddy Media. Drew is an avid traveler, Broadway investor, and active member of the Chicago LGBTQ community. He holds an MBA from NYU Stern.

Chad Empey

CFO

Chad brings 20+ years of experience in financial and administrative leadership to Neostella, including positions at both large, publicly-owned and mid-sized companies. His industry experience includes assurance services, retail, manufacturing and retirement services. Chad is an avid Wisconsin sports fan and loves attending and watching Badger, Packer, Bucks and Brewer games. In his free time, he also likes to play basketball and golf, go to concerts and visit many of the wonderful Milwaukee breweries.

Tessa Pelkowski

Chief People Officer

Tessa is an accomplished operations leader with over 15 years of experience and a passion for building strong customer relationships. Tessa comes from a family of entrepreneurs and has helped grow several start-up businesses including one acquired by a Fortune 500 company. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new wineries, attending concerts, and spending time with family.

Rob Busch

VP, Sales

Rob brings 20+ years of sales leadership experience from incredible companies such as Microsoft, Workday, and Salesforce, and is responsible for executing the Neostella sales growth plan while maintaining world-class levels of customer satisfaction. Rob graduated from Depauw University (Greencastle, IN) with a degree in Economics. During his time there he most importantly led football teams that beat Wabash College four years in a row, never relinquishing the prized “Monon Bell” trophy.

Scott Wolski

VP, Technology Operations

Scott has 20+ years leading technology operations and design. With a background focusing on information security, networking, and cloud infrastructure, he’s helped build and maintain multiple cutting-edge global systems and the teams to support them over the course of his career. In his spare time, you’ll find Scott making things both in the kitchen and on his workbench, traveling, gaming, petting cats, or practicing whatever new hobbies he’s picked up that week.

Scott Bickley

VP, Strategic Partnerships

With over 20 years of leadership experience across global markets and cross-functional disciplines, Scott brings a strategic and results-driven approach to relationship management, customer engagement, and the formation of high-impact partnerships. His career spans enterprise technology, channel strategy, and business transformation, where he has consistently aligned stakeholder interests with measurable business outcomes.
Scott’s expertise lies in fostering innovative alliances that drive growth, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver sustained value across complex ecosystems. His global perspective and collaborative leadership style make him a valuable contributor to governance, strategic planning, and go-to-market oversight. Outside the office, Scott is an avid golfer, passionate sports enthusiast, and world traveler who enjoys time on the water and discovering new cultures.

Josie Slaughter

VP, Digital Marketing & GTM

Josie Slaughter is a seasoned marketing leader who has spent her career transforming how companies connect with the world. With more than two decades of experience spanning SaaS, public safety, financial services and connected technology, she has built global marketing organizations that fuel growth, rebuild trust, and give brands a powerful voice in their markets. Known for her ability to stabilize high-stakes launches, inspire cross-functional alignment, and turn underperforming portfolios into growth engines, Josie has led 75+ major product introductions and guided companies through acquisitions, transformations, and global expansion. She combines data-driven strategy with a storyteller’s instinct, creating marketing that not only drives measurable impact but also resonates with people on a human level.

Erik Eklund

VP, Enterprise Applications

Erik has over 15 years of experience in implementing, automating, and integrating SaaS solutions, primarily in the Salesforce ecosystem. Most recently, he co-founded a Salesforce practice which was acquired by a Fortune 1000 company, then served as High Tech Industry Practice Lead for the world’s largest dedicated Salesforce implementation partner. In his spare time, you’ll either find Erik playing board games with his daughter or assisting Milwaukee-area food pantries in adopting Salesforce to streamline their operations.

Samm Karshenas

VP, Colombia Operations

Samm began his career in software development, taking on team lead roles early on and eventually leading technical consulting teams for global Fortune 500 companies. Joining Neostella in 2021 as the company’s very first sales engineer, he quickly demonstrated his extensive, broad-based knowledge of the software industry across all Neostella product lines. This expertise propelled him to his current role, where he oversees Neostella’s rapidly growing product development and support teams. A Milwaukee native, Samm now resides is Medellin, where he enjoys cheering on his hometown Green Bay Packers, exploring new destinations, and taking in the culture of Colombia.

Paola Marin Candamil

VP, LATAM Strategic Expansion

Paola has an entrepreneurial spirit and has established subsidiaries in Colombia for foreign companies, including one organization listed on the NYSE, before joining Neostella to lead and scale growth and global business operations in LATAM. As an experienced operations manager with a Master’s degree in marketing, Paola believes teams are the most innovative and productive when they are happy, which is why she strives to create and nurture a positive culture in the workplace. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and golfing.

Dmytro Minko

VP, Product – Work-Relay

A Salesforce Certified Application Architect and Work-Relay Architect with 20+ years of experience in IT and a Master’s Degree in applied physics and computer science, Dmytro has extensive experience implementing and designing Salesforce platform-based applications and products. Dmytro was instrumental in the founding of Work-Relay—he even relocated his family from Ukraine to the United States to fully dedicate himself to the product and its clients.

Sam Oestreicher

Senior Director, Customer Experience

Sam has over a decade of legal and implementation experience, with a wealth of knowledge and a strong foundation in managing teams and processes. Sam prides herself on finding the right solutions for customers and being a dedicated advocate, both for customers and her team–ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved. Whether professionally or personally, Sam is driven by commitment to growth, connection and delivering exceptional outcomes. Outside of work, you can find Sam immersed in a good book, traveling, eating a good meal, or spending time with her 3 dogs.

Alejandro Herrera

Senior Director, Software Engineering

Alejandro has worked in software development for over 7 years, specializing in web development, process automation, business intelligence, and cloud technologies. Before joining Neostella, he worked with a leading global manufacturer, where he delivered over 100 software solutions that improved operational efficiency. At Neostella, Alejandro oversees software development, ensuring high quality, and innovative products. He is passionate about empowering his team’s growth and driving continuous improvement. A Medellín native, Alejandro spends his free time with his dog, brewing beer, and enjoying video and board games.

Ben Kraemer

Director, Project Management & RPA

Ben is the Director of Project Management & RPA at Neostella and joined Neostella in 2019 as the first employee. Today, he manages Neosella’s project management, business analyst, customer success consultant, UX/UI designers, and quality assurance teams. Ben also manages the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) department. Before joining Neostella, Ben was a regional director for the United States Senate and earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Outside of work, you can find Ben skiing, riding his motorcycle, and ensuring his dogs (and wife, Annie) are happy and healthy.

Tim Schmitt

Director, Sales

Tim, our Director of Sales, brings over a decade of experience in the SaaS industry, combining his expertise with a passion for solving complex problems. Known for building strong client relationships and driving results, Tim is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time experimenting in the kitchen and hiking through his hometown of Milwaukee.

Brian Mayer

Director, Product

Brian brings 15+ years of product and technology leadership experience to Neostella. As Director of Product for Neostella, he leads a team of product managers developing legal tech solutions, building on his experience creating enterprise software solutions for global clients. His career spans roles as a founder, creative director, and technical project manager, giving him a unique perspective on delivering customer-centric products. In his spare time, Brian performs gospel music and cheers on his beloved Detroit Lions.

Stalin Pinzon

Director, Human Resources

Stalin is a human resources professional with over 15 years of experience. Throughout his career, he has led human resources departments in various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, services, digital marketing, and BPO. This has allowed him to gain a comprehensive understanding of organizational needs and talent management in diverse environments. Stalin holds a master’s degree in Human Resources, a specialization in Labor Law and Industrial Relations, and a degree in Education, which provide him with a strategic advantage in team management and the implementation of effective labor policies. In his free time, he enjoys activities such as dancing, cooking, going to the movies, and listening to music. He is a dog lover.

Ted Evangelakis

Director, Customer Success – Work-Relay

Ted is an experienced Project Manager, Business Analyst and Solution Architect with over 30 years experience in multimedia and web-based applications. For the last 13 years, he has focused exclusively on Salesforce and, as leader of the Customer Success team for Work-Relay, on process-based solutions and support for our clients. Ted was also an Adjunct Professor at University of Miami School of Architecture teaching digital media, 3D modeling and animation for 15 years.

Neostella named one of America’s Best Startup Employers of 2023 by Forbes magazine. Neostella is the only Wisconsin startup to make the list.

Forbes partnered with the market research firm Statista to create the ranking of startup employers, which are defined as being U.S.-based, founded between 2013 and 2020, and currently having at least 50 employees. More than 2,600 startup companies were analyzed based on three criteria: company reputation, employee satisfaction and growth. The final list ranks 500 startup employers from across the U.S.
